How the PS3 version will stack up against the PC version
“Our goal is to create a game that works equally on all platforms. The engine is designed to run smooth on the PS3 as well as the PC. So I think that the consumer will not see any big differences between the versions.”
The animation technology DICE borrowed from the FIFA franchise.
“It actually creates a lot of difference from the motion of being on the battlefield. You will see other characters in the game moving around in a really lifelike way like in FIFA, which looks really, really good. Even though we have perfect control, it still looks amazing, and the same is also the fact for Battlefield 3.”
How DICE plans to differentiate BF3 from MW3
“We are not trying to be the same game. I know that there’s a lot of things that you can compare, and it’s a FPS, it takes place in modern day, and has a military theme. But in general, we’re making a battlefield game. We’ve always been making battlefield games since the first game, Battlefield 1942 back in 2002. We know what the formula is, so this is going to be the best Battlefield game we’ve ever built. So, I think it’s more up to what the consumer wants: if they want a deep military experience when it comes to infantry and vehicles; if they want destruction and they want the all-out 64 or 24-player war, then this is the game for you.”
Battlefield 3 launches on October 25 in the US and October 28 in the UK.
