A Namco Bandai spokesperson has claimed Microsoft purchased a Western Xbox 360 exclusivity contract for Tales of Vesperia.
Promoting the Xbox Live Arcade download of Tales of Vesperia on her Facebook page, Namco Bandai community manager Charlotte Toci said the decision not to release the PlayStation 3 version of the game outside Japan was made for business reasons.
“Microsoft paid for the exclusivity, the same way as Sony paid for having Heavy Rain only on PS3. It’s just one way the business works, sadly.
“Those decisions are made really high up y’know, we do try and give them the max of fan feedback, but sometimes its just out of our hands”.
Tales of Vesperia released on both consoles in Japan, with the PS3 versions sporting extra content yet to see Western release.
