Report – Xenoblade coming to US, The Last Story coming to EU

By Brenna Hillier

After this weekend’s surprisingly momentous campaign, Wii fans have apparently been rewarded with confirmation of two of the Wii’s most-requested RPG localisations.

Nintendo Master (French, via auto-translate) reports Nintendo France re-confirmed the European release of Xenoblade Chronicles, which is expected in September.

More excitingly, it promised a localisation of The Last Story, the stunningly beautiful Mistwalker RPG which up until now had only been the subject of rumours.

In the US, a Nintendo representative told Destructoid that Xenoblade Chronicles is still on the cards for release.

The much-anticipated title has not appeared on the last few Nintendo release schedules, missing its release date, and reports apparently surfaced last week that a Ninty rep had confirmed its cancellation.

Demand for the game is so high that fans have put in enough pre-orders to push Xenoblade to the top of Amazon’s charts. The retailer still has the game listed under its 2009 working title of Monado, which just goes to show how long it’s been since Nintendo communicated anything about its release to distributors.

RPG fans continue to campaign for confirmation for The Last Story, which surely deserves a place in the hearts of US faithful as well.

No word on Pandora’s Tower, the third title of the Wii RPG trinity, in either territory. Oh well, can’t win ’em all.

Thanks, IGN.
