Glee: The 3D Concert Movie BOMBS!

Desi Jedeikin

So Glee: The 3D Concert Movie came out this weekend and surprise, surprise it BOMBED! Actually, that is kind of a surprise. Below is a pic of the cast performing in the flick. Do people even use 'four eyes' as a diss anymore? I guess 'white boy rapper in a wheelchair' didn't fit on his shirt? I kid, I kid, Artie's the bomb! Unlike the movie, which was just a bomb.

So what went wrong? I mean, lots of Gleeks were unable to shell out big bucks to see the concert live, so it seemed like a no-brainer that they would wanna see a film of the concert. Maybe they didn't wanna see all the rich kid Gleeks having the experience of a lifetime, an experience they could only dream about? But this movie was in 3D!! Wait...WHA?

So you have to pay 3D prices to see what has got to be one of the most useless 3D experiences ever? People just love feeling like they're getting ripped off...yeah great idea guys. There is only one reason this movie should've been in 3D and that's if Darren Criss had popped out randomly, pretending to get us like a scary dinosaur.

Some people speculate that another reason the film didn't do well was that it focused more on the stories of three Gleeks rather than the stars of the hit show. I mean Gleeks are some of the most hardcore fans out there, so it's pretty surprising they weren't out in full force. Maybe they were all in Glee camp practicing their jazz hands?

The movie opened with 5.7 million dollars, not even breaking the top ten for the weekend. To put it into perspective, Justin Bieber's concert film Never Say Never opened with 29.5 million. Yeah... HA HA! Glee got it's ass kicked by Justin Bieber! That's like a million slushies to the face!

They even got out-derped by Miley Cyrus, whose Hannah Montana concert film opened with 31.1 million dollars. Sorry guys but it's hard to out-derp Miley. And I imagine that, with the way she's skankin' around, in a few years it'll be pretty hard to out-herp her too.

It's not like anyone thought it would out-perform the summer's biggest hit, the final Harry Potter movie, but you'd  think it would've at least done better than Mars Needs Moms...am I right? It's okay, babies, maybe Voldemort will give you an awkward hug.
