A trend has popped up in video games of releasing additional downloadable content, or "DLC", after the game's release. Oftentimes this is a patch to fix the game because something was straight-up broken in the testing phase and the developers made a farting noise with their mouths and threw up a middle finger, shipping it as-is. But sometimes, when we're really lucky, it's new content for a game, and here's the kind of stuff I'm really hoping for.
1. Mega Man In Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
Not having such a staple character as Mega man, a problem easily rectified with DLC, should be embarrassing to Capcom. How are you going to put out a game without your staple character? It's like a Grey's Anatomy game not having Dr. Anatomy! I assume Dr. Anatomy is the main character of Grey's Anatomy and don't care nearly enough to check.
Also, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 could use a zombie mode.
2. Contemporary Patch For Duke Nukem Forever
If Duke Nukem had come out in 1998, it would have seriously been the greatest game ever. Unfortunately, it languished in development hell seemingly forever and didn't come out until a few months ago. In the year 2011. Maybe now the developers could work on a patch to make it feel like a contemporary game. I'd like to think the developers have gotten a little quicker since shipping the game, so I'd expect to see it sometime before the sun expands and destroys the planet.
Also, Duke Nukem Forever could use a zombie mode.
3. New Missions For Red Dead Redemption
Red Dead Redemption is a HUGE game, but I could always do with more missions, more stories, more everything. To those that say you can have too much of a good thing...nonsense! That's what they said to me when I bought thousands of dollars worth of Red Vines and ate them in a blanket fort for three days straight, and I have never had a better time eating Red Vines in a blanket fort.
Also, Red Dead Redemption has a zombie mode.
4. Anything For Nintendo Games At All
With a practically non-existent online strategy, Nintendo could honestly, send anything to show they're on board with DLC. I'm talking anything, like new color schemes in Smash Bros., some new missile expansion in Metroid Other M, Hell, I'd even be satisfied if they Photoshopped raccoon ears on the Mario face that comes up at the beginning of Mario 64. Just WHATEVER.
Also, Nintendo games could use a zombie mode.
5. Metal Gear Solid 4 Epilouge
Does anyone else feel like the ending of Metal Gear Solid 4 was kind of bleak? And preachy? I'd love to see an added chapter of the game released via DLC that showed Snake finally cooling off, maybe sipping a mai tai at the beach and finally doing all those sudoku puzzles he has sitting on the coffee table. Yes, I am suggesting a Metal Gear Solid epilogue that plays exactly like Brain Age. I think it'd be good for old Snake to keep his mind working, you know?
Also, Metal Gear Solid 4 could use a zombie mode.
6. Hoarde Mode in Portal 2
A Hoarde mode in Portal would consist of an endless stream of companion cubes for you to Portal away. Actually, once you set your portals, it's pretty uninteresting.
7. New Maps For Halo Reach
I mean, science fiction spaceships and alien worlds are cool and all, but I'd love to see Halo take some risks and introduce a map pack where you fight in, like, Middle Earth or the Civil War or Pinkberry or something.
Also, Halo Reach and Portal 2 could use a zombie mode.
What DLC would you like to see? A zombie mode, maybe? Let us know in the comments!
