Black Ops map packs are selling through the roof. Also, surprise of the century, Activision is raking in money by the truckload.
Activision Blizzard reported today that they raked in a whopping 1.7 billion USD during the 12 month period ending in June 2011, representing a 22 per cent increase over the year before according to Gamasutra.
Black Ops and Blizzard’s brands continue to generate enormous income, as usual. One of the more notable successes of Acti-Blizz’s report is that the Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack sold an incredible 18 million copies at $15 a piece.
They triumphantly touted that the average Black Ops customer is now paying $76 per purchase (game + DLC).
