Last weekend’s MLG Pro Circuit tournaments drew massive attention to Raleigh, where some of the world’s best pro gamers battled it out for supremacy.
The major upset and probably highlight of events in Raleigh was the surprise triumph of Bomber over CoCa; the latter had been undefeated up until the finals and was strongly backed to take home the prize.
In Halo: Reach, Infamous returned to form to take the day from Instinct, while FeaR took out its first Pro Circuit win in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
League of Legends made its Pro Circuit debut, as the MOBA genre increases in importance to the eSports scene. A lot of eyes were glued to the final showdown between Counter Logic Gaming and Epik Gaming, with the former emerging triumphant.
Reading the results is not as fun as actually seeing the competitions take place, but if you missed out on the livestreams, MLG has posted a number of free video on demand replays, for Starcraft II, League of Legends, Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
If you’re not keen on wading through the whole tourney, there’s an excellent recap of all the Starcraft II action.
Another featured video shows off Gears of War 3’s multiplayer in action in an exhibition match.
The next stop on the MLG Pro Circuit is Orlando; the games kick off on October 14. Check out the event page for more information.
