Deep Silver has released a day-one patch for Techland’s Dead Island which promises to fix a range of issues with the game, and has said it plans to release a correct version of the game on Steam “ASAP”.
Earlier today, it was revealed that the PC version of Dead Island released on Steam in the US today was a dev build of the Xbox 360 version, instead of the correct version of the game.
“We deeply regret that an incorrect version of Dead Island was inadvertently made available to players on Steam launch in North America,” Deep Silver said in a statement to Joystiq. “We are very sorry for any issues you may have experienced while playing the game – the correct, patched version will be made available to North American players ASAP.”
A correct, patched version will be released on Friday in other territories.
The patch issued this afternoon, contains fixes for maps synchronization, player re-spawn positions, the inability to complete sidequests in Laboratory and more.
You can view the entire patch notes over on Joystiq.
