EGM’s reporting that Resident Evil 6 will finally get its bow at TGS this week.
Speaking to an anonymous source, the site’s man in the shadows said the series will “go back to its roots” with a revamp, and the main priority will be to make “what made Resident Evil so great to begin with.”
Its source added that Capcom was placing a “real emphasis” on making the game “brutally scary.”
The publisher’s unsurprisingly stayed mum on the rumour.
“Capcom has not made any announcements [about Resident Evil 6] and does not comment on rumors,” it said.
This isn’t the fist time a rumor pertaining to a TGS reveal of RE6 has surfaced.
Back in July, a picture posted on the HellDecent forums showed what appeared to be a Resident Evil 6 logo revealed during a closed door press conference at San Diego Comic-Con.
Along with the logo, a date of “15.09.2011″ appeared on the screen above.
During E3, a Capcom representative hinted to Rely on Horror the series would be going back to its horror roots with the next installment.
Finally, back in August, a LinkedIn profile for CG artist Shannon Justison listed “Resident Evil 6 Cinematics” as one of the projects she had worked on.
Capcom’s holding a 15th Anniversary stage show for the series at TGS on Saturday morning at 7.10am BST/2.10am EST.
If it is getting unveiled at the show, this’ll be most likely the venue.
