Body Parts People Evolved Out Of Having

Daniel Dominguez

Evolution is a lengthy and complicated process. It can take millions of years for a single feature to diminish from a species because it is no longer necessary. Human beings, a part of the evolutionary process like everything else, have had all sorts of body parts that over the course of time no longer appeared on us as they became superfluous over the course of history, such as:

A Second Butt

(source)

The second butt was a feature on human beings for hundreds of years. It, unlike the first butt, mainly excreted a  soft, but tough, hemp like material. Scientists theorize this vanished from our species when beds were invented and we no longer needed to use our excretions to make a soft place to sleep on.

Hand Horns

Basically useless, these horns looked cool but made it very hard to pick anything up.

A Hole In Our Forehead That Emitted Sonar Waves That Could Detect If Someone Was Gay

(source)

Useful initially in the process of determining a mate, it became more and more obvious that you could kind of just tell.

Fully Cooked Lobster Meat, Instead Of Cartilege In Our Noses

(source)

A maladaptive trait that vanished from the human race since people who were born with this feature tended to very quickly die from having their nose almost immediately consumed and subsequently bleeding out.

A Sexy Squirrel Tail On Chicks

No one knows why chicks lost this feature over time, all we know is that everyone hates evolution for having taken it away.

Men Giving Birth

(source)

It sounds evolutionarily valuable to have both sexes be able to give birth, until you see what part of the body men were giving birth from.

A Speaking Dog Head On Our Backs That Always Complains About Everything

Jesus, what a relief when we stopped having these.
