Voxatron Alpha offered in latest Humble Indie Bundle

By Brenna Hillier

The latest Humble Bundle offers just one game, in a Minecraft-like discounted Alpha deal. Get on board or be forever hipstered.

Voxatron explains itself in the trailer below, but seems to be a mix of top-down shooter, platformer, and puzzler, with a full level editor bundled in.

For the next two weeks, you can pay what you want for the game’s alpha version at the Humble Bundle website, and having done so, will receive all subsequent updates. Remember how that worked out with Minecraft? Yeahhh. Once the bundle ends, the Aplha will go for $15.

In its first few hours, the Voxatron debut has pulled in over 30,000 purchases for a total of over $116,000 – and climbing.

Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson doesn’t seem to have begun his usual bidding war for top yet, but main rival Expired Popsicle is in the top ten at $128.00, and the highest spot is currently occupied by David Marsh if iOS developer Nimble Games at $256.

Check out the video of Voxatron in action below.
