The cloud is on its way to Xbox, according to Microsoft exec Brian Prince.
“You will be seeing things in the Xbox platform that’s cloud-specific,” said Prince, speaking at GDC China, as caught by Gamasutra.
“I’m already doing it, it’s really exciting, but I can’t tell you about it or else I’ll get fired.”
Microsoft’s already promised cloud-based saves as part of the next Dashboard update, but Prince comments sound like it’l be going a lot further than that.
He also touched upon currently-existing cloud gaming platforms, OnLive and Gaikai.
“These are really gaming platforms as a service. There are some limitations here, but I really do think this is the distant future of gaming in the cloud.”
