Nothing reinvigorates a movie franchise like a Christmas edition. Star Wars aired their Christmas special right before the unquestionable peak of the Star Wars saga, The Empire Strikes Back, came out. Die Hard started out with a Christmas edition and was never better. Even Harold and Kumar just did something Christmasy called Harold and Kumar's Mighty Christmas or something. And it was probably funny, right? Here are some other movie franchises that could really come into their own with a Christmas movie.
The Dark Knight
The holidays are full of the complex moral drama that Christopher Nolan loves to wring out of his Batman franchise. For example, what if Batman had to decide whether or not to invite The Joker to Christmas dinner? On one hand, he did murder the only woman Batman will ever love. On the other hand, everyone deserves a family on Christmas.
The Matrix
Discovering the true meaning of Christmas is hard, but it gets even harder when you have to first find the true meaning of the reality that Christmas exists in.
James Bond
James Bond only has until Christmas to stop a rouge military group from destroying civilization as we know it, so instead of spending his December in Cabo with a hot Russian lady, Bond must work closely with M and Miss Money Penny and whoever is doing the Q thing nowadays to find the leader. When he finally finds the leader, he discovers that it was M all along! And she was trying to teach him that the meaning of Christmas isn't sleeping hot Russian ladies in Cabo, but spending time with those you love most. Bond responds to this by sleeping with a hot Russian lady.
Bourne Identity
Same as the James Bond one except with worse camera work.
The Clint Eastwood "Dollars" Trilogy
Wouldn't you love to see the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly in a Secret Santa gift exchange?
Star Trek
The crew of the Enterprise gets trapped in an alternate universe where every day is Christmas! It ends up with them learning a lesson about tolerance or something and is kind of boring.
The Fast and the Furious
"Yo, I got you a car."
"Hey man, I got you a car too."
"It go fast?"
"Yeah."
