Potential Animal Names For Apple's Next OS

Mikey McCollor

Whenever Apple unveils a new iteration of its' OS X operating system, it also reveals the new big cat it's named after, such as Cheetah, Snow Leopard, and most recently Lion. While big cats are obviously rad, I'm starting to think that maybe it's time to diversify. Move away from big cats for a while. If they run out of big cat names, they're going to start naming OS X updates, like, OS X Asian Golded Cat, which is real and quite possibly racist. And so, because I like 'em so much, I'm going to offer Apple some potential new names for their next OS X update.

OS X Lion Riding a Horse

The next update might just be a minor tweak on the current Lion software. A minor, awesome tweak.

OS X Monster

Who knows what doors a celebrity endorsement from Kanye West could open. Everybody knows he's a muthaf*ckin' Monster.

OS X Sllllitherin' Snake

So fun to say. Say it like a snake! Sllllllllitherin' Snake!

OS X Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

What if Apple wanted to introduce a huge new feature seven months into the life cycle of the OS that could potentially ruin everything about how you work? Interestingly, iWolfInSheepsClothing was the original name for iCloud.

OS X Zombie Bear

Scary! This name is scary! I don't know how interested Apple is in striking terror into the hearts of its' enemies, but this the name to go with if they're even considering moving into the Strike-Fear-Into-The-Hearts-of-Your-Enemies business.

OS X Hippogriff

Apple products have often been called magical. Hippogriffs are magical. The marketing writes itself. Apparently the marketing is also magical.

OS X The Bird from Up

What if the New OS is a ground up rebuild of everything we know about OS X? Also, what if it's goofy and funny? Tech analysts agree that Apple has been looking to move into the "goofy and fun" market for years.
