According to a rumor steaming from leaked information out of Nintendo, a second CPU inside 3DS could be unlocked for developers, which would provide studios with 25% more processing power for games. This processor was previously used only for the handheld’s operating system, according to NintendoWorldReport, and it has also been reported that Nintendo has found a more “eficient method of running stereoscopic 3D images” which puts less strain on the CPU.
NWR also reports that eShop downloadable titles could be receiving a bump in storage space from 16MB to 512MB, which would be provided to the handhelds via a patch.
