What better way to ring in the new year than with a...DUI!?! WHA?? RECORD SCRATCH! Well maybe...according to a new survey, NYE is the number one day of the year for teens to get their dumbass on when it comes to drinking and driving. I'm pretty sure the dudes below get their dumbass on all the days of the year. Ha-ay! Ho-oh! Amateur night!
The survey, conducted by Liberty Mutual and SADD, showed that 10% of the teens surveyed admitted to drinking and driving on NYE. Nearly 50% of those surveyed said that they consider NYE an extremely dangerous night to drive. Why do I get the feeling that that 10% number is a little low? Other popular nights to break the law and endanger the lives of others include the Fourth of July, prom night and after a football game. It's kind of scary thinking of all these drunk teens driving out there. So don't do it! Trust me... it's much more comfortable to crash in your crib than it is to crash in a cell.
The good news is that the survey also showed that 94% of teens said if one of their passengers asked them not to drive while the were under the influence, they would listen. 6% of teens who participated in the survey are total friggin' d-bags. It's nice to see so many teens being good friends! Friends are important, especially when you've had a little too much to drink. It's very soothing to have someone with you when you're barfing your brains out.
So on that note...I hope everyone who plans on drinking and driving on NYE, knocks themselves out before they hit the road! And then the rest of us can have good legal times with our designated drivers or in our chauffeured Lincoln Town Cars. Ho, ho...OHHHHHH!
