US Vita owners have two options to choose from in securing 3G data for their new consoles come February 22.
1UP reports AT&T will offer consumers two monthly plans, neither requiring a contract.
The cheaper goes for $14.99 and provides 250MB of data for use in one month, while the more expensive option will set you back $25, but offer 2GB – a significant saving for the data-hungry.
Those who activate an AT&T plan on their Vitas will receive a voucher for a free game from the PlayStation Store, and users will have free access to over 29,000 AT&T WiFi hotspots around the country as a bonus.
Neither SCE America nor AT&T have made mention of a data cap similar to that employed in Japan, where files over 20MB in size must be downloaded via WiFi.
The Vita launches in the US on February 22. A 3G-enabled model will retail at $299.99, while the base WiFi-only release goes for $249.99. A First Edition bundles is available for those who want to pay extra and pick up their kit a week early.
Data pricing for European and Australian launch is yet to be revealed, although Vodafone has been chosen as partner provider in both territories. In Japan, NTT DoCoMo offers by-the-hour prepaid plans, granting players 20 or hours per month or 100 hours per quarter.
