EMI looking at “unique opportunity” to include “hidden gems in our catalogue” for GTA V

Record label EMI has said the release of Grand Theft Auto V will give the company an “opportunity” to have it include some of its “hidden gems” in the game.

“Over the years, the Grand theft Auto series has provided EMI Music Publishing with a unique opportunity to get sync placements for some hidden gems in our catalogue that otherwise may not have landed in the world of video games,” said EMI’s VP of music resources Rod Kotler in the latest MusicWeekly (via MCV).

“We look forward to working with Rockstar Games on future versions of this fantastic series and to continuing to deliver value to our songwriters in this regard.”

The only song confirmed for the game so far, the track used in its first trailer, is The Small Faces’ Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake.

Rockstar hasn’t dated – or confirmed platforms – for Grand Theft Auto V as yet, although more details should come after Max Payne 3 launches in May.
