Famitsu has a couple of new screens for the next, as yet untitled .hack game. According to Andriasang, they show gameplay in real time running on the game’s destined platform, not rendered on an über PC – but CyberConnect2 haven’t said what that platform actually is. What we do know is that the game is set one year after an upcoming movie, which releases in Japan on January 21. There have been five core games in the .hack franchise, which also extends to anime, manga and novels, plus one portable release the three spin-offs. The series boasts a fictional MMORPG called The World, playable within the broader games, which is a central plot device.
