Hitman: Damnation to stalk book shelves this Summer

By Mark Limburg

An announcement by book publisher Del Rey indicate a tasty surprise for fans of the Hitman series of games, in the form of a prequel novel set between Bloody Money and the soon to be released Absolution.

The title, Hitman: Damnation, is set on American soil with the well dressed Agent 47 assigned to remove a number of political figures. As you may expect, events don’t go as smoothly as the Agent would professionally prefer – as Del Ray have announced, “he notices that some aspects of the mission don’t add up as he is plunged into a web of lies, deceit, and murder.”

Of specific note, the novel is under the pen of one Raymond Benson. Some of our readers will recognise him as the author of a number of Metal Gear Solid and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell novels, however most should know his work as the fourth official James Bond novelist. Needless to say, with this range of background behind him, the story of the Agent should be in good hands.

IO Interaction/Square Enix’s Hitman: Absolution is due for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms in 2012.

Thanks, Gamespot.
