In Tall Oaks, where one of Resident Evil 6’s two (or possibly even three) storylines takes place, players will have to contend with 70,000 zombies – but they might not have to do it alone.
The figure comes courtesy of the game’s official Twitter, which has been busy answering fan’s questions and dribbling information, neatly collated by Siliconera.
Apparently, the horde of undead will be unlike any seen in past Resident Evil titles, and therefore be “a bit different to what you may be used to”.
The feed reiterated Capcom’s messaging from elsewhere that Resident Evil 6 will make a return to core survival horror, and also promised “classic Resident Evil moments” in such a way that this sounds like something that’s not survival horror – hopefully, ridiculous puzzles. It has also promised more information over the next few months about an upcoming demo.
Now for something less concrete: According to Kotaku and Joystiq, both of which have screen grabs, the Xbox.com Marketplace listing for Resident Evil 6 outed the game’s multiplayer plans.
The listing reportedly included mention of two player local co-op, up to six player online co-op, and up to eight players for another, unrevealed online multiplayer mode. Microsoft or Capcom seems to have edited the listing in the interim.
Resident Evil 6 debuted late last week, and is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November.
