Oh no! Turns out the worst thing about skinny jeans isn't when a slightly chubby depressed emo kid wears them! They are actually bad for your health! Hipsters everywhere are getting their angst on. Don't worry guys...you'll always have trucker hats and ironic t-shirts.
A study published in the Wall Street Journal has linked skinny jeans to a myriad of health issues, including nerve compression, digestive problems, lower back pain and even blood clots. YIKES! There's even a name for it 'Tight Pant Syndrome'. Seems like an awful big risk to take just to be trendy. I mean besides the health issues though...do you really wanna be seen in something the Jonas Brothers wear? Kevin looks like he's passing a clot at the very moment this photo was taken.
But skinny jeans aren't the only thing crushing everyone's innards. The same goes for Spanx and waist-cinching belts, which will cause similar problems as those tight, tight pants. Hopefully the results of this study will lead to a decline in the popularity of skinny jeans. Cause let's be honest...they're not exactly the most flattering pants on 80% of the people who wear them. Especially if you have to wear Spanx to fit into them. Don't risk your health to look like crap, people!
The study also warns about the dangers of excessive high heel use. People who consistently wear 2 inch or higher heels have an increased risk for bunions, numbness and fractures. Ain't nothing sexy about bunions and digestive problems...am I right? Researchers recommend taking a break from wearing the offending items. Do it for yourself. Do it for the rest of us. We need a break from all of your sexy fashion too. I mean do you have to work it everyday??
