Skyrim wins Game of the Year at Danish Game Awards

The third annual Danish Game Awards were held tonight, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim walked home with not only and award for Best RPG, but Game of the Year as well.

Complied by votes from the Danish gaming community, below you will find a list of winners and the games each title beat in parenthesis:

  • Game of the Year: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, LA Noire)
  • Best Racing Game: Forza 4 (Mario Kart 7, DiRT 3, Driver: San Francisco)
  • Best Children/Family Game: Rayman Origins (The Sims 3: Pets, Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, LittleBigPlanet 2)
  • Best Rhythm Game: Just Dance 3 (Kinect Sports 2, Michael Jackson: The Experience, Dance Central 2)
  • Best Sports Game: FIFA 12 (Football manager 2012, Pro Manager 2011: Tour De France, NBA 2K12)
  • Best RPG: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Dragon Age 2, Skyward Sword, SWTOR)
  • Best Shooter: Battlefield 3 (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Gears of War 3, RAGE)
  • Best Action Game: Uncharted 3 (LA NOIRE, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Batman: Arkham City)
  • Danish Game of the Year: Pigs in Trees
  • Best Game Store: GameStop Fisketorvet, Copenhagen
  • The MUF Award (honorary award given to a person or an organization, who’s done something extraordinary for the Danish games industry): Troldspejlet

According to games journalist and lovely VG247 freelancer Julie Horup, Troldspejlet is a Danish show about games “that’s been running for the last two decades or so on national television.”
