Modern Family is a very popular sitcom that follows the lives and issues of three different couples as they face life in the modern United States. Having not seen the show, from what I can tell from commercials the show follows a gay couple, a bisexual swinger couple, and a homeless old guy who has a nurse that sleeps with him as a form of charity. They are all pretty bland couples that you'd expect to see on ABC during primetime. I think the show would be better if they followed some of these couples instead:
The Little Mermaid And An Old Fisherman Who Accidentally Caught Her
I'm sure ABC could find a way to fit in all the regular prime time hijinx, plus every episode we could watch him look confounded while he tries to figure out where to put it when they have sex.
Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez
We could follow their adventures as they live on their secret private island where they spend all day eating jewel encrusted lobsters, crashing Yachts into each other for fun, and lighting their Cuban cigars with burning original Picasso paintings.
A Christian Fundamentalist Couple
They would be a great foil for the gay couple. Think of all the comical wackiness that could come from this mismatch! Every time the gay couple went for a walk the fundamentalist couple would be right there to try to get them arrested for such crimes as "holding hands while shopping," and, "brushing the hair out of each other's eyes in an unholy manner."
Spongebob And Sandy
It's about time they made it official and moved in together. With Spongebob having stayed a bachelor for this long I'm sure Sandy's pretty convinced he's just using her for the sex.
The 19 Kids And Counting Couple
Modern Family would be a lot more interesting if it followed the adventures of the Duggar family. They could have such wacky episodes as "My wife can no longer stand because her uterus is actually hanging outside of her body from having so many children," and "Please God, Allah, anyone, take my life because I never want to be Pregnant again, OH NO HERE HE COMES HE'S GOING TO GET ME PREGNANT AGAIN, BUT I CAN'T RUN BECAUSE I'M ALREADY PREGNANT."
Papa Smurf And Smurfette
I just can't wait for the episode where they agree to baby sit for one of the other couples and their human size child crushes them both accidentally when he sits down without looking.
Shia LeBeouf And Dame Maggie Smith
You didn't know they were going out? This January-December relationship blows the May-November Ed O' Neil and attractive late 30 year old relationship out of the water. I think it would be way more fun to see what humorous situations come out of a couple where one of them is so old she goes to bed in an urn.
