OMGPop’s lightweight Pictionary-like Draw Something is the biggest earner on the App Store.
Gamasutra notes the game actually occupies both first and second position on the highest-grossing chart in its free and paid versions.
Draw Something has players taking turns drawing and guessing a list of words. The base, free version is ad-supported, has a limited dictionary, and provides just four colours to paint with. Players can buy extra colours individually, purchase coins to buy in-game items, or pay 99 cents to nab an ad-free version. It supports cross-platform play with the Android version.
The highest grossing chart tracks which apps and games are bringing in the most revenue, and often show startling variation from the most purchased and most downloaded charts. See the full top ten for iPhone and iPad below.
