At this weekend's Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards, British boy band sensation One Direction was on hand to perform a song that teenage girls can imagine themselves as the protagonist, and they ran into first lady Michelle Obama, who I assume was there to present the award for, like, best sliming of a governor. Obama invited the guys to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll this weekend, but One Direction looked her dead in the eye and said "Mrs. Obama you can stuff it. You hear me? Just stuff it."
They were probably more polite than that.

And so, One Direction will not be attending the Easter Egg Roll this year. It's easy to suspect that this news would leave Sacha and Malia Obama disappointed, but as it turns out, inviting One Direction wasn't even their idea. Only one Obama will be sad to hear the news.
Besides, Sasha and Malia are into that raw punk sh*t like The Melvins.

So why would One Direction turn down the White House? The official reason being given is that they're already booked to play in Australia this week, but I think maybe One Direction looked into what exactly goes down at the White House Easter Egg Roll. The official White House website describes it as a fun day filled with "games, stories, and, of course, the traditional egg roll on the Lawn" but then goes on to say the event "will include sports courts and cooking demonstrations [which] will help educate families on smart ways to incorporate healthy eating and exercise choices into their daily routines." I can see why One Direction would turn that down. I wouldn't want to be lectured about my lifestyle on a holiday that is literally about eating candy.
Why won't Michelle Obama LEAVE ME BE.

On the other hand, if One Direction could have put up with Michelle Obama's passive aggressive needling about their eating habits, you've got to imagine an Easter egg hunt on the White House lawn would be great. And besides, it would be fascinating to see what President Obama would hide inside Easter eggs.
Oh boy! Another bulleted list of the effects Governor Romney's proposed budget cuts will have on Medicare and Medicaid!
