Yes. O.K. The Avengers is the greatest comic book movie of all time. Blah. Blah. Blah. Listen. We get that they wanted to use the classic Avengers for the first movie, but there are some key team members that got left off. Here are the Avengers that we think should be added to Avengers 2:
Wolverine
Wolverine is a member of the new Avengers, and Hugh Jackman is a big enough star to hold his own alongside the rest of the cast. This will be a great first step to crossover the Avengers with Marvel's biggest franchise, The X-Men. Eventually, we'll get to see an Avengers Vs. X-Men movie. Snikt! That's the sound of nerds getting boners all across the world.
Black Panther
The Avengers seriously lacked some diversity. They need to add the Black Panther to the team for Avengers 2. He's a scientist, sorcerer, and all around bad@$$. Those are all traits that could be beneficial to the team in fighting whatever menace shows up in the next movie. Plus, he's the first black superhero in Marvel comics. He's like the Jackie Robinson of superheroes.
Squirrel Girl
When an acorn falls in to a nuclear reactor, there is only one hero to call. Squirrel Girl with her sidekick squirrel, Monkey Joe. With her squirrel agility, prehensile tail, and ability to talk to squirrels, there is no better addition to the most powerful team in comics history. SQUIRREL POWER!
Namor the Sub-Marinor
The biggest problem with the Avengers is that they are all to awesome. They are so awesome that they don't stand out enough. They need to add someone sort of useless so we know how great they are. Unless the whole next movie takes place underwater, there won't be much for The Sub Marinor to do. And that's how we like it.
She-Hulk
She's funny. She's smart. She's beautiful. She-Hulk. ScarJo was great as Black Widow, but Black Widow is kind of boring. We want to see a female Avenger that can take Tony Stark's burns and burn him back even harder. We all know Gina Carano will get the part, and I'd love to see her painted in green.
Fantastic 4
If the rumors are true about the next Avengers being in space, they kind of have to have the Fantastic 4. It will be nice to see one of the coolest classic teams get handled by a writer and director that actually knows how to use them instead of just making them LAME LAME LAME LAME LAME!
Spider-Man
This one is probably a long shot because Marvel doesn't own the film rights to Spider-Man. I can still dream though! He's already in New York where the Avengers are based so it isn't really going to be that difficult to write him in. So just let Marvel have him Sony execs, and maybe I'll consider letting your families out of my basement/dungeon.
Why Avengers do you want to see in the next movie? Let me know @zachlunch or tell us in the comments!
