MLG: Taeja takes home $10,000 in StarCraft II Summer Arena

By Brenna Hillier

Major League Gaming’s first StarCraft II Summer Arena has drawn to a close with a Korean visitor smacking down the competition to take a hefty purse.

Taeja beat closest rival Alicia 4-2 to take the top prize of $10,000, his first MLG title. Happily, eSports is becoming lucrative enough that quite a few of the 32 competitors got a slice; Alicia took home $6,000, which is not a bad consolation prize.

Final bracket results are below. In addition to the prizes listed, finalists will receive all-expenses paid trips to the MLG Summer Championship in Raleigh, which run August 24-26.

MLG is now re-broadcasting the Summer Arena, so check it out here.
