An alleged GameStop leak has apparently outed serious DLC plans for Assassin’s Creed III.
Kotaku received an image of what is said to be a message circulated to GameStop employees, as a thank you for meeting pre-order goals.
The letter states Ubisoft is busy “creating a complementary development team that will begin work on post-launch episodic content”.
Employees are asked to inform customers of a “season pass” on Assassin’s Creed III DLC, which will presumably give access to all DLC released during a set period of time. Interestingly, the pass is mentioned as an additional pre-order item, rather than appearing as a free bonus with pre-orders or special editions.
Both Brotherhood and Revelations received one major post-launch DLC pack – The Da Vinci Disappearance and the Lost Archives respectively – but otherwise DLC for the series has been largely contained to multiplayer expansions and launch day bonus content.
Assassin’s Creed III is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at the end of October, and will arrive on PC before the end of the year.
