Final Fantasy 7 launched on PC at the weekend in the US, but fans who downloaded the game found it wouldn’t work. A Square-Enix source has allegedly clarified the issue.
MCV reports that a Square-Enix source close to the publication has told them the launch was premature and that the publisher will issue a statement on the matter imminently.
Final Fantasy 7 PC went live on the US Square-Enix store at the weekend, but when gamers tried to play it they found that the SecuROM DRM wouldn’t authenticate.
The reason? The game wasn’t supposed to be out yet.
