Microsoft patents show Kinect-like device working with mobile cameras, making movies

Microsoft has filed two patent applications showing a Kinect-like device working with a mobile camera, and one for movie editing for “living room movie creation.” The later allows for movies that can be “directed, captured, and edited using a system that includes a depth camera,” and real-life objects can be used “as virtual props.” The filings are through here and here, and the link to Joystiq above explains both a bit more.
