Stuart Ross, developer at 4J Studios, has tweeted about the upcoming update for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition.
“We’re working on the 1.8.2 update, and deciding what to bring forward from 1.9 and beyond,” announced the official 4J Studios feed this morning.
The team also confirmed there is, “Many weeks of work to do yet, so [the update] is not out soon.”
Ross followed this up by answering a few questions from fans of the game.
He confirmed your world will not be deleted when the update goes live, but you will need to start again to access all of the new structures. Ender Pearls have made the cut, but unlike the PC version, you won’t be able to use them for teleportation purposes.
Also included in the update is the Creative Mode. Ross noted 4J are still working out the best way to implement this much-anticipated feature.
“We haven’t decided what the Creative menu will be like, but it probably won’t be like the 1.8 one with the large scrolling menu,” Ross said. “It will be something that isn’t too cumbersome to use with a controller.”
Ross decided to keep things cryptic, hinting the update might include some brand new additions that haven’t appeared in the PC version so far.
“There may be some new features in the next update…but you might not notice 😉 There will probably be more unique things in the future, yes.”
