No Doubt vs Activision suit still a thing, goes before a jury October 15

By Stephany Nunneley

The lawsuit between Activision and No Doubt over the use of the band’s image in Band Hero will go before a jury starting October 15.

According to the band’s legal representative, Bert Deixler, the band has “suffered losses of millions,” and Activision’s “meritless” appeals have continued to delay the case,” he told Gamespot.

Furthermore, the firm’s settlement offers have been found lacking, and now the legal end of the band has accused Activision of hiring actors to design dance moves “no member of No Doubt had ever performed.”

The case has been going on since 2009, when the band filed a suit against the publisher over Band Hero players being able to use band members’ images in songs not its own.

The band said this turned them into a “virtual karaoke circus act”.
