So you think you're not going anywhere because you're bad at school? That's not true. Lots of formerly terrible students have moved on to greater things. True, those greater things mostly don't involve math or science. But saying things that you didn't write in front of a camera is pretty great, right? It's not going to cure anyone's cancer, but at least you'll feel good about yourself. And at the end of the day, how you feel is all that matter, you selfish jerk! Here are some famous people who were bad students.
Daniel Radcliffe
Daniel Radcliffe realized at a very young age that school just wasn't for him. He dropped out of school because of this little independent movie he starred in called Harry Potter. Maybe you've heard of it?
Ryan Gosling
Ryan Gosling had so much trouble in school that he ended up being placed in a special needs class. He dropped out of high school at the age of seventeen to move to Los Angeles and pursue and acting career. My mother always told me to never fall for a man who didn't have an education. But those eyes! They're like looking in to the ocean. Am I right, ladies?
Cameron Diaz
The star of a Bad Teacher was a bad student. Cameron Diaz sometimes turned in so little homework that she would be shocked that she passed her classes. She began her modeling career at the age of sixteen. I'm sure that miraculously passing classes had NOTHING to do with her looks. Those creepy old teachers just had really kind hearts.
Jon Stewart
Most well-known news people worked hard through college to be at the top of their class so they could start a career and hopefully become one of the most trusted names in news. Jon Stewart admitted in a commencement address to his former alma mater that he wasn't a good student. Since Jon Stuewart currently holds the title of the most trusted name in news, maybe all of these journalism majors stop working hard and start partying hard.
Rachel Weisz
The star of The Bourne Legacy and Fred Claus was a bad student until she met an old teacher that invigorated in her a love of learning. Well, maybe if some teacher took a special interest in me and encouraged me to then I would have never become a Pokemon Master. We all take our own paths. I'm pretty happy with the one I've chosen.
Andrew Daly
You probably know Andy Daly as that guy who was in those things. As he revealed on the WTF podcast, he was a terrible student and usually only passed classes because he was well liked by the teacher. If you're feeling down because your grades aren't that great just remember that you could one day be that guy that's in those things.
Peter Jackson
Peter Jackson didn't really care that much about school. He was too busy teaching himself how to make awesome special effects for movies and dropped out when he was sixteen. Maybe a little more paying attention in math class wouldn't have hurt him though. He's turning one book, The Hobbit, in to three movies. I don't think that adds up right.
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart had to start homeschooling because she was failing most of her classes because of her busy acting schedule. She blames her teachers and go so far as to say that they were failing her because they resented her. Yeah. That's it. Everyone was just jealous of you. She totally should have gotten special treatment because she's so special. No one in the world can emote less than her. It's a gift.
These people were all failing their classes because they were doing something with their lives. What excuse do you have? Let me know on twitter @zachlunch or in the comments below!
