Kim Kardashian Denied for Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Mikey McCollor

The always ambitious Kim Kardashian recently indicated her desire to receive a star, saying to V Magazine, "I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. So, of course I'm so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want."

But I don't think that's true. Screenwriters don't want that kind of attention. High school chemistry teachers don't want that kind of attention. Firemen don't. Geologists don't.

DOGS don't.

But it doesn't sound like a star on the ground is in the cards for Kardashian. A representetive for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, who manage the Walk of Fame, said to The Hollywood reporter "Part of criteria in being honored is receiving awards such as Emmys, SAG Awards, Oscars etc. in the category of Television, Live Stage Performance or Motion Pictures." When asked about a reality star's eligibility, the rep went on to say "Can't really say if reality stars will ever be eligible. Not on our radar right now."

So now we have a Kardashian at cross-purposes with the guy who decided the Nickeloden cartoon Rugrats deserved a star on the Walk of Fame. There hasn't been a fight between two dumber people since Rocky IV.

In fairness, Drago's paper on the monetary policy of the Federal
Reserve vis a vis the effects of a roughly zero percent interest rates is
being talked about very positively in many economic circles.

Sure, some of Hollywood's biggest celebrities have stars on the Walk of Fame, including Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep, and George Clooney. But we must also keep in mind that a star on Walk of Fame is a pretty trivial honor in and of itself, as we've seen stars given to the likes of The Harlem Globetrotters, David Spade, and Disneyland.

Um, this is a PLACE.

But even if they are stupid, the Walk of Fame does have a defined criteria for who gets a star and who does not, and Kim Kardashian doesn't make the cut. Sometimes it's hard to accept that we're simply not appropriate for the thing we want most. Like a serial killer who wants to be a babysitter.
