McPixel, a point-and-click adventure/mini-game collection, will be the first game to earn the support of torrent site The Pirate Bay.
Game creator Sos Sosowski handed out gift codes for the game on the site, which caused The Pirate Bay creator to track the developer down to start promoting the title where this weekened only, you can pay-what-you-want for the indie game.
“I know that not everyone can afford entertainment, but everyone needs it,” wrote Sosowski on the site. “And even though I make games for a living, I am most happy just to see people enjoy them. So today, you can download a torrent of my game. And if you like it, throw some coins in my general direction.”
IndieGames reports McPixel has moved 100 copies since the promotion started, with the average price being $1.34.
The McPixel codes were brought to the attention of The Priate Bay founder after Sosowksi participated in an IAmA on Reddit.
