LAN support for League of Legends will not be made available to the general public outside of tournaments, Riot has confirmed.
According to a tweet from Riot VP of eSports Dustin Beck: “We built an offline solution for the Finals for the pros to be protected from Internet connectivity issues. There are no plans to develop a LAN mode for offline play at home / LAN centers. Just wanted to clarify for everyone.”
Riot announced LAN support over the weekend for the Season 2 World Championships Grand Final between the Taipei Assassins and Azubu Forst, the former of which won.
