Microsoft demo shows off Digits controller

By Brenna Hillier

One of Microsoft’s Cambridge research team has invented a pretty amazing new controller. Called Digits, the wrist-mounted arrangement of sensors and cameras allows for “freehand 3D computer interaction without gloves”; you’ll be able to wiggle your fingers mid-air as if you had a control pad. The creators apparently wanted to make a motion control system more accurate than Kinect; it doesn’t even require line of sight to your TV, although it does need to be tethered in its prototype form. Hit up Microsoft Research to view a video and read more.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
