Indie space shooter Strike Suit Zero will support VR headset Oculus Rift, something that will “really change up” its core gameplay.
In an update on the game’s Kickstarter page, developer Born Ready Games promised to release a version compatible with the new tech, and enthused about the product.
“Imagine taking to a fully 3D cockpit, navigating space and looking about your environment as if you were actually there. The Oculus Rift will allow you to look all around you, letting you keep track of the enemy in a way that doesn’t just rely on a radar. This will really change up the core dogfighting experience,” the post said.
Those who have backed the project are invited to add an additional $1 to receive an Oculus Rift compatible beta version; as the headset isn’t commercially available, this offer is best utilised by those who picked up the tech’s dev kit in its own Kickstarter. The Oculus Rift beta is due early next year.
“Having tried the Rift at PAX – and seen firsthand how incredible the headset is – this is tech we’re really excited to see Strike Suit Zero working on,” the post concluded.
