Borderlands 2 developer Gearbox Software has discussed its plans for future DLC, following a recent press tour for the game’s third expansion Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, which saw the pack dated and given a new trailer. If fan interest holds up beyond the current run, a second season of DLC could be on the cards.
The Sir Hammerlock Big Game Hunt expansion is out January 15th on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Here’s the official trailer:

IGN reports – by way of a chat with a 2K rep – that Gearbox and its publisher want to support Borderlands 2 for as long as the game remains popular, which could see new characters, and further expansions after the current season of content ends in 2013.
The rep suggested that the game’s level cap will raise in the first quarter of 2013, but couldn’t say if this would appear in the as yet unannounced 4th expansion, or as part of a different DLC altogether. The site states that the method Gearbox is exploring will make you want to play the whole game again.
