The War Z has completed its alpha testing phase, wiping tester progress and presenting a shiny new beta release.
PC Gamer reports the beta build introduces new playable characters and store items, and unlocks the last section of the game’s map.
As alpha has ended, purchase options which granted access have been removed, with three new packages available to would-be players. Each comes with a scaling amount of in-game currency and guest keys, and will set you back between $15 and $50.
A forum post outlines developer Hammerpoint Interactive’s plans for the game going forward. A new major build, Foundation, is expected this month, and will introduce a number of features, notably clans, friends, leaderboards, server rentals, new building materials, the ability to call for help, and more weapons.
