Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s light bowgun profiled

By Brenna Hillier

Monster Hunter Ultimate 3 may well be your introduction to this phenomenally popular game, so get familiar with its weapons. Today’s target, ah ha, is the light bowgun.

As detailed on Capcom Unity, the light bowgun is an agile weapon which can fire piercing, slicing, elemental and healing ammunition thanks to its hybrid nature.

Some kinds of ammo support a rapid fire mode, allowing multiple shots from just one consumable ammo item.

Players can attach various modifications to the light bowgun including a long barrel for increased damage, a zoom scope for precisely targeted shots, and the silencer, which aids in stealth.

A later upgrade allows you to sacrifice rapid shot ammo in order to load all kinds of ammo at once, making the weapon truly versatile but slightly heavier, turning backwards rolls into hops.

The light bowgun is one of 12 classes of weapon which you’ll have access to right from the start; we’ve already met the sword and shield combo and hammer. Monster Hunter Ultimate 3 arrives on 3DS and Wii U, with cross save compatibility, on March 19 in the US and March 22 in Europe.
