THQ’s remaining employees have until the end of the day to clear out their desks

THQ has told its remaining employees they will have until the end of the day to clear out their desks, as access to the building “will be shut off.”

The news comes from a memo handed to employees today, according to IGN. The memo states that the majority of employee benefits will terminate today, and news on whether a severance package or pay for remaining vacation days will be provided to employees will be determined at a later date.

“While some THQ employees are expected to be offered employment by the new owners, some positions will no longer be needed under the company’s new structure. We regret that your position is included in this latter category,” read the memo. “We are actively working with the Creditors’ Committee and as soon as we have an answer, we will send out a separate communication.”

Employees will receive their final paycheck, and disability coverage, health benefits and life insurance will expire on January 31.

Transitional services or job training will not be offered, but the firm plans to forward employees’ personal email addresses to recruiters.

Employees will still be able to access their 401k account balance, and any unvested balance will become “fully vested” as of today.

The firm’s president Jason Rubin even tweeted a picture of himself, removing his personal belongings from the building (thanks, DSB).
