Halo 3 not coming to PC, but Dyad is

By Brenna Hillier

Microsoft has responded to the suggestion that Halo 3 will finally make the jump to PC with a firm no, but other titles outed in a recent Steam database trawl are still on the cards.

“We currently do not have plans to release any Halo titles on Steam,” Microsoft told Eurogamer, flatly quashing our hopes.

Three Halo games turned up on Steam’s database recently as test entries, but whatever Valve and possibly Microsoft were testing, it doesn’t seem to have borne fruit.

Some of the other games on the list had already been confirmed for PC release, and at least one more has been added since the story broke over the weekend.

Dyad creator Shawn McGrath told Joystiq that unusual strategy game Dyad, previously a PlayStation Network exclusive, is indeed on its way to Steam in March.

A Windows version is guaranteed and Linux and Mac versions will be available either at launch or shortly thereafter.

In a video announcement, McGrath expressed his disappointment and amusement that he was not able to do a proper announcement thanks to the efforts of sleuths. The video he did do is pretty great, though, so check it out below.

Still no word from Square Enix regarding Quantum Conundrum 2, so keep your various digits crossed.
