Molyjam, crowdfunding and Retro/Grade talks added to GDC 2013

GDC 2013 organisers have outlined three talks which form part of the Indie Games Summit segment of the annual conference.

Double Fine’s Anna Kipnis, the powerhouse or organisation behind Molyjam, will be on hand to discuss the international gamejam based on the ideas of Peter Molyneux’s Twitter parody. The talk is called Molyjam: How Twitter Jokes Can Save Video Games.

Matt Gilgenbach of 24 Caret Games will give a talk about 2009 IGF nominee Retro/Grade, an PlayStation Network exclusive which took four years of crunch to produce. This isn’t your average development history; Gilgenbach will touch on his struggle with obsessive-compulsive disorder and how best to overcome it during development.

ICO Partners’ CEO Thomas Bidaux has advice for those considering Kickstarter in his talk Crowdfunding for Indies: Real Numbers and Trends. The developer assisted Strike Suit Zero’s crowdfunding campaign and has done empirical research on the funding platform.

GDC 2013 runs March 25-29 in San Francisco; the Indie Games Summit will be held on the first two days.
