Some people think they’re soooo smart. Smart enough that they can teach the world a little something about what they believe is their particular area of expertise, be it hair care, D.I.Y. fainting, or satellite dish installation. The unfortunate souls in these videos, though, are dumber than they realize – hence the epic fails that occurred when they tried to share their knowledge via YouTube. Let’s laugh at their idiocy, shall we?
Burning My Hair Off -ORIGINAL VIDEO- (Hair Tutorial Gone Wrong)
Before the the fail (and the LOLs) commence, you’ll have to sit through over a minute of this nondescript blonde yammering on about what hair care products and curling irons you should use to get your hair looking cute...that’s what makes this video a slow burn. (Get it? GET IT? God, I crack myself up.) Your patience is rewarded at 1:10, though, when she looks down, horrified, at the charred remains of her once flaxen hair. That’s what you get for kowtowing to the patriarchy, toots!
Super Glue Tutorial Gone Wrong
I wouldn’t be surprised if this video was an outtake from a Japanese horror film. It’s got all the necessary parts to terrify – a haunting soundtrack, no dialogue, and a bleeding protagonist. Which is weird, because the subject matter is hilariously inane (by which I mean to say, not at all spooky). The baby genius who made it describes his epic journey into the halls of stupidity thusly: "Tried to make a tutorial to take off super glue. It ended up getting stuck on my skin, so i tried taking it off and it ended up getting cut and then my phone fell in the sink and got wrecked.”
The Infamous Swimming Pool Installation
The protagonist of this clip is, I guess, trying to install an above-ground pool...inside an above-ground pool? If you can figure it out, enlighten me. It appears that the first pool liner started leaking, so this dude had the master plan to put another one inside of it in order to not have to drain the pool’s water and start again. As someone off-camera says in a delightful southern accident, however, "there ain't no savin' it!" He says this, of course, after the whole damn thing bursts.
Satellite installation gone wrong (Pineapple Kiwi Productions)
These two dummies thought they could buck the system by taking their dish into their own hands...they were wrong. Wanna know why Luke’s on the roof? Let the simpleton behind the camera explain. " [The satellite company] wanna move our satellite dish, and they’re gonna charge us a bunch of money, so we decided if Luke can’t do this...if we can’t move this dish by ourselves...hold on Luke, that thing’s real expensive, we paid a lotta money for that... " Guess what happens next? (HINT: It involves Luke saying "my bad.")
Tutorial gone wrong
What’s sadder – eating boxed macaroni and cheese alone, thinking that creating a "how to make macaroni and cheese" tutorial is worth your or anyone else’s time, or setting your stove on fire? If you said "they’re all equally sad in their own special ways, " you’re right! Your reward is this video, in which all of the aforementioned soul-crushing events occur!
How to faint gone wrong
Have you ever hyperventilated yourself to the point of fainting...for fun? If you answered "no," you are a rational human being who probably doesn’t suffer from self-induced brain damage. If you answered "yes," you deserve to be publicly humiliated, not unlike the child in this video.
Electroshock Demonstration Fail
Mehdi Sadaghdar is an engineer. He may very well be a good one. That doesn’t mean he’s not a dumbass. In this informative video about Electrostatic Discharge (or ESD), Mehdi repeatedly ignores his own advice about the dangers of electroshocks, zapping himself multiple times with the gun he’s using to demonstrate what the deal is with ESD. The whole affair does a great job proving the point that street smarts and book smarts are two entirely different beasts.
Eating a Doritos tutorial gone wrong
Young people clown around all the time. Now that YouTube exists, young people clown around on it...all the time. Demonstrating how to eat a Dorito is pretty damn funny, no matter how old you are – violently pushing your dancing friend down the stairs and yelling "Boo-yah!" afterwards, however, is probably a younger man’s game.
Katelyn Doing Makeup Tutorial Gone Wrong!!
Katelyn just wanted to show the internet all the purty face paints she had...she had no idea she was about to step into a TERRIFYING MINEFIELD OF DEVASTATION. How devastating, you ask? Watch and find out. I’m sure she still has PTSD. (NOTE: Said devastation involves flatulence. Obviously.)
Whose pain did you enjoy laughing at the most? Let me know in the comments!
