Far Cry 3 grabs six at The Canadian Videogame Awards

The fourth annual Canadian Videogame Awards ceremony was held over the weekend, with Far Cry 3 picking-up six including Game of the Year while the excellent Mark of the Ninja won Best Indie and Best Downloadable Game. Hit the break for more winners.

The fourth annual Canadian Videogame Awards were held in Vancouver this weekend. The award ceremony saw Ubisoft win big with Far Cry 3 picking up Game of the Year, Best Animation and Best Game Design, amongst others for a total of six.

Bioware was awarded the Best Console Game, Best Original Music and Best Writing awards for Mass Effect 3. Klei Entertainment picked up two awards for Mark of the Ninja, which were Best Indie Game and Best Downloadable Game. Sound Shapes’ Sound Shapes won Best Game Innovation.

The executive producer of The Electric Playground and Canadian Videogame Awards founder, Victor Lucas said:

“The sheer concentration of quality games produced in 2012 was utterly mind-boggling. Small or large, independently produced or developed by teams of hundreds, the nominees this year truly represent the diversity in the Canadian videogame industry.”

  • Best Audio: Assassin’s Creed III (Ubisoft Montreal)
  • Best Game Design: Far Cry 3 (Ubisoft)
  • Best Game Innovation: Sound Shapes (Queasy Games/Sony Computer Entertainment)
  • Best Indie Game: Mark of the Ninja (Klei Entertainment/Microsoft)
  • Best New Character: Far Cry 3 (Ubisoft) – Vaas
