Nintendo has announced a sequel to one of its most beloved games of all time, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Coming this holiday season to the 3DS, A Link to the Past 2 — as it may or may not be officially titled — will take place in the same universe as the Super Nintendo classic. I'm officially so excited for this game that I've not only decided to buy it, I'm actively looking for new ways to give Nintendo money.
While I was at Gamestop putting down a preorder, I went around
and put dollar bills in all the empty Wii game cases.
The new Link to the Past will use the 3DS to give its dungeons depth, allowing Link to shoot towards the screen and land on higher ground. And that is about the best feature they could add, because the dungeons in A Link to the Past looked and felt so flat. I was ALWAYS walking into walls.
Maybe in the first game Link had an iPhone?

With this new Link to the Past, we're going to see a sequel to one of the greatest games of all time made by those who made the original so special. In what other medium is that possible? A Link to the Past 2 is like The Beatles recording a sequel to Yesterday. It's like HBO announcing another season of The Wire. It's like getting Citizen Kane 2. Actually, I take that one back. I shudder to think about what today's Citizen Kane 2 would look like.
"This time, Mr. Thompson is looking to find out what Mr. Kane meant
by his OTHER final word: DESTRUCTION."

Many, many people consider A Link to the Past to be not only the greatest Zelda of all time, but the greatest game ever made. I mean, not me. I love A Link to the Past, but I'm definitely a Wind Waker man. I know, I know. That seems sacrilegious. You gotta either go Ocarina of Time or Link to the Past, right? But just because SOCIETY and our PEERS and IGN tell us that we only have two Zelda games to choose from doesn't mean we REALLY only have two Zelda games to choose from! We are a FREE PEOPLE, and just as we're allowed to wake up every morning and choose what we'll do with our day, we're allowed to call ANY Zelda game our favorite!
I mean, except Twilight Princess.
That game is garbage and who could ever like it.
