Nintendo has announced that Rayman Legends Challenges mode will be released for free on April 25 on Wii U and it’s free to boot.

Rayman Legends Challenges is being released this week on Wii U.

Rayman Legends was once intended as a Wii U exclusive but was later announced as a multi-platform release and delayed several times in order to add new content.

The Rayman Legends Challenges standalone mode will be launched by Ubisoft via Nintendo’s eShop for free on April 25. It will feature four modes, including a Wii U exclusive Dungeon mode, and comes with the option of racing against friends’ ghost data and taking part in varied daily and weekly challenges.

A video of what to expect from Rayman Legends Challenges was posted by the development team earlier this year.

Rayman Legends is expected in September on Wii U, PS3 and 360.
