Atlus USA has confirmed a localised release for the 3DS-exclusive Shin Megami Tensei 4, and we don’t have long to wait.
The anticipated RPG sequel arrives in northern summer, just a few months after its Japanese launch. No word on western launch yet but it’s probably safe to hold your breath. VG247 does not actually suggest you hold your breath.
Shin Megami Tensei 4 is the long-awaited next core entry in the sprawling franchise which also includes Persona, Devil Summoner and Devil Survivor. It’s been nine years since the release of Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne on PS2 in the US.
This one’s a bit unusual because it includes a second timeline set in an alternate history, in which samurai wander a European medieval style world called Mikado. There are over 400 demons to recruit, combine and otherwise faff about with as you fight off an invading army, also composed of demons, through a branching narrative.
Atlus doesn’t actually have much else to tell us about the game as yet, but you can pre-order it and stare at this Japanese trailer.
